Call it as I see it..........

Hi again,

First a quick update: The spray paint has finally been removed from the Bailey Middle School sign. Apparently, there has been more complaints regarding the appearance of city schools that have been brought up, I guess there is much more work to be done here....

Today my beef is with the City Council. They really need to open themselves up to the community. Meeting announcements and minutes should be more promptly posted to the city's website. They should be more through, and much more clearer to read so residents have a better understanding of what is happening in what is a major forum for decisions that impact taxpayers.

I hope that in the near future the residents of West Haven can establish more of a campaign to get the city council to provide better communication and get them more involved in proceedings. Usually people want to get involved after the important decisions have been made by the council.

In attain, reading some of the stories on the web regarding the proceedings during these meetings it seems as more of a "high school study hall" as opposed to a City Council meeting..... Finally, the council seems to have a bad habit of brushing-off residents concerns and statements that are made......

All meeting minutes from the city council are "supposed" to be posted within 7 days after the meeting. If I calcualte it right today is day 7, the council had a meeting on 9/25/2006.

Something has to be done.........

Congrats on the spray paint removal.

I'm very disappointed that city council meeting minutes haven't been posted in a timely fashion.

I'm curious - where does this statement come from: All meeting minutes from the city council are "supposed" to be posted within 7 days after the meeting.. Is there an official rule somewhere, or was this a promise by an official?
